A article for my biggest fan, because I’m hers as well

Since I met you I’ve had a reason to get out of bed everyday, a reason to do better. Everyday I have to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming.

Every letter you leave, every phone call just makes me want to hug you that much tighter.

I’m supposed to be turning in another article right now, but this is something I much more important. I don’t have any writers block, I just have a lover’s heart.

We don’t need Valentine’s day to feel special, only us in the same room together. You are the most important thing in my life and  I wanna keep being apart of yours.

Your smile, your laugh, yours words, your frowns, your sneezes, your coughs, YOUR FARTS, your bedhead, your…ok maybe not the farts they’re powerful. Ok never mind yeah even your farts, I wanna many more days to come with.

I’m not good at cutting out love collages, I don’t say things in the best ways at times, I don’t even make the best choices at times. However,(ouiii sounds all proper) I do know I can write some words and have it be readable. sometimes. with help. almost always. maybe.

I don’t care about every place we go to all the time. But you know it doesn’t matter to me where we go because I know anyplace will turn great when I’m with you.

I can’t wait to see you. I can’t wait hug you. I can’t wait to kiss you. I can’t wait to romantically watch you while you sleep next to me.( Its ok because I put romantically in there)

Luv Is Rage 2 Review, Lil Uzi Vert Delivers

“Luv Is Rage 2” by Lil Uzi Vert is finally here, also known as yeah, yeah, yeah: the album by anyone that presses play for this.

The Philadelphia rapper picked up steam leaving 2016 with a feature on “Bad and Boujee.” Then kept it going releasing one of the hottest songs 2017 with “XO Tour Life.”

Rage 2 lives up to what fans would expect from the catchy adlibs, anime references and a  braggadocios swagger on the tracks.

“The Way Life Goes” is an anthem for those going through rough times or experiencing loss. While boasting on parts, it’s clear that Uzi’s trying to convince himself that he’s better off than before.

This is apparent in the verse he says “If she ever call my phone you know I gotta dead her. But I like that girl too much, I wish I never met her.”

Uzi is creative when it comes to making tracks, there’s even a charm to the simplicity of the tunes. But, that’s also the downfall of a majority of tracks as they get too A-B-C elementary.

Pretty decent songs play most of the runtime, then “How to Talk” came on where Uzi literally rhymes with variations of yeah. I had to admire the stones it took to troll the people who dislike his adlib by doubling down.

Replace every period on this review with a “woah,” “huh” or “yeah” and you’ll have summed up the project as Lil Uzi Vert writes like a college student trying to meet word count.

Lines like “No I’m not a rat but I’m all about my cheddar,” would be cringe worthy coming from any other artist, but his delivery and flow make them work.

ouiiiii

“Unfazed” is example of when the repetition succeeds, this is a club song where nothing lyrically fancy is needed and is only saved thanks to The Weekend doing what he does best…singing about drugs and women.

Uzi raps here like someone is pointing a gun at him, threatening to shoot if he spits anything worth hearing. Well, he made it through the verse so take that as you will.

“Neon Guts” featuring Pharrell is also a standout as Skateboard P pulls a Casey Anthony as he murders the beat after creating it. Uzi and P make a great duo, as they’re both craftsman when it comes to making melodic jams.

The best song still remains “XO Tour Life” as the depressingly catchy anthem showcases what makes Uzi great.

“I’m committed, not addicted, but it keep control of me. All the pain, now I can’t feel it, I swear that it’s slowing me.”

Heartache has never been so compelling to sing as it is on the song. XO would make peppy Flo from Progressive commercials put on pounds of eyeliner, all black clothing and a choker.

While the project has a few gems and definitely grows on you with consecutive plays it is just held back in parts by repetition and uninspired songs.

While it’s not quite adlibs: the album, there’s enough quality content in between them to look forward to for what Uzi does next.

Worth an Add: XO Tour Life, Unfazed, The Way Life Goes, Neon Guts
Worth A Listen: 444+222, Sauce It Up

Rocket League: Year One Quick Review

This came out of nowhere last summer and took gamers by storm as this vehicular soccer influenced game made waves across the industry.

Over the last year, new modes, cars and customizations have been added in that made this a well-rounded product.

The premise is simple, a standard team of 3 cars go against another team trying to score goals by any means necessary. The spectacle of nitrous fueled cars fly through the air for insane goals is breathtaking.

“Rocket League” is one of the few games after 2400 matches , where I can honestly say it never gets old.

Controls are simple, being easy to pick up and play for any newcomers to win with basic moves. Although, over time as the player learns the mechanics, complex plays will become a regular occurrence.

i-hate-sports-games-but-rocket-league-is-the-best-game-of-the-year-so-far

The online ranking system is addictive, while being a bit flawed as teams can be mismatched often enough to cause frustrations of having to play a loosing battle.

Offline 2 on 2’s make one of the most enjoyable couch multiplayer experiences since Smash Bros or Mario Kart.

Rocket League just had a collectors edition hit stores with all the DLC, making a great starting point for this excellent title.

Mike and Dave Review

“Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” is one of the best surprises this year. The trailer left me wanting no more, while the film had me wanting to see it one more time.

The movie revolves around the titular characters Mike and Dave, played by Adam DeVine and Zac Efron respectively; need dates to keep them in check at their sister’s wedding, since hell on earth unleashes whenever they are left to their own devices.

They find dates in Alice (Anna Kendrick) and Tatiana (Aubrey Plaza); however, little do they know that they’re just as chaotic, which leads to one insane weekend for everyone involved.

This is the type of comedy where you have to apologize to the person next to you because of how madly your body will flail around from laughter. Everyone will leave the theatre looking like they were just in a UFC match.

It’s hard to recall some scenes because of how many times I closed my watering eyes while dying in my seat.

Story is loosely here to set up gags that take center stage, rapid-fire jokes that hit their target more than Steph Curry at the 3-point line.

A great aspect this film gets right that many don’t is how everyone feels like a real character, no matter how dysfunctional parts of his or her personality may be.

Mike and Dave could of easily been the man-children, seen in a million other films. Instead, they are just 20-somethings that can have silly sides to them like anyone, while having trying to have some shades of maturity when needed.

Something that can be irritating is when emotional scenes are derailed jokes, although funny, kept a barrier between the characters and myself whenever I started to connect.

Maybe being a bit too self aware a times are where the problems arise, as characters or situations get wrapped up too neatly in a couple lines of dialogue, looking at the audience as to say, “you know why you came you’re here,” like end of some Netflix date.

Efron has proved he has the chops for comedy, delivering great lines or reactions for DeVine to bounce off of.

Efron doesn’t really have a personality in the movie, one moment he’s the straight guy, then the next he’s his frat boy character from “Neighbors”. It was hard to decipher whom he was beyond, Zac Efron playing Zac Efron.

While this is not necessarily a bad thing, it sticks out when compared to others like Kendrick, who became the very likeable and neurotic Alice.

On the other side of the spectrum, there’s Plaza playing a wildly different character type from any other she done before, stealing almost every scene she’s in. Taitana is loud, brash and hysterically demented at times.

A scene in the film involving her and Mike talking about jealousy, where Tatiana reveals after cutting off the ponytail of a girl who was looking at her ex, she wore it around for a month as a warning to other women.

MIKE AND DAVE NEED WEDDING DATES

We all want someone to look at us like Anna Kendrick looks at that drink

This movies relies on its cast, the chemistry between everyone is what carries scenes. Even the supporting cast is firing on all cylinders, making scenes like the spa, worth the price of admission alone.

Comedies are easy to watch, but even harder to rewatch when you know the big surprise jokes coming. That just leaves a joke with not much to stand on after the surprise is gone.

“The Hangover” still holds up because of the journey and characters that populate its runtime.

Although some story is here, it’s more of a stage for its characters to stand on. The real show comes in the interactions between characters and their environment.

they have a distinct style don’t they?

Raunchy R-rated flicks have come been a dime a dozen the past decade, more common than hipster sighting in Wynwood or a sunrise outside my door.

Nothing is really shocking anymore, so it’s a great pleasure to see one rely on actual jokes over shock value again.

Is the movie reinventing the wheel for comedies? No, but it does most things so well, such as dialogue or likeable characters, making this a must-see summer movie.

Deadpool and Suicide Squad Leaked Comic Con Trailers(inside)

Deadpool and Joker are beloved by comic fans, so it’s no surprise when a crowd full of them broke into a mob like roar when the trailers finished. Remember these are leaked so it won’t be up for long and the quality might be like looking through the eyes of an old man.

The “Deadpool” panel definitely received a lot of attention with sentences like “most of you have seen horses **** before you’ve kissed your first girl”, it’s clear why the movie has an R rating.

The trailer featured Deadpool doing what he does best, cracking jokes and kicking ass. Cameos and meta references fill the run time, with the music score fittingly being DMX’s “x gon give it to ya” because why not?

Negasonic Teenage Warhead, nuff said.

“Suicide Squad” trailer didnt give too much away besides the basics of the plot, but it did show a chase scene between Batman and Joker, while ending on a sadistic side with the first reveal of Jard Leto’s chilling take on the character.

Director David Ayer is confident in the film he’s making with all the shots thrown at Marvel. Luckily, the footage was there to back up all that shade being thrown.

Batman vs Superman Comic Con 2015 Trailer

We finally get two see the two comic heavyweights trading fists in this all new trailer and every second of it is bound to start some colorful comments on message boards.

Lex Luthor is still up to his dickish ways, batman is scowling and doing some impressive feats and superman is trying to keep his cool. This new footage really shows insight into what the movies about and relatively how things are going to unravel into the two heroes fighting.

The most interesting part of the video is at the 2 minute mark when Jason Todd is hinted at, which is big since the 2nd robin’s death has never covered in TV & film(except the animated film). 2016 can’t come soon enough, this trailer should be enough to hold fans over as the replay button gets worn out.

Made Music: Hudson Mohawke

The world can now exhale as a breath of fresh air has hit the music scene by the name of Hudson Mohawke. Crafting a record using a mix of electronic and rap, Mohawke makes an atmospheric song, with lyrics that will no doubt get stuck in someone’s head after the first listen.

“Very First Breath” is a single off oh his recently dropped “Latern” album, after years of producing for the biggest names in music today.

The video is full of vibrant visuals that only adds to the picture the track already paints in the mind. I still don’t fully understand what happens in the video, but I learned that you don’t mess with a tough chick and her squad, especially one that fears face paint.(edm events just became scarier)

Made Movies: Tomorrowland Review

The fantastical world of “Tomorrowland” has arrived and it evokes the ideas of yesteryear to make an enjoyable ride from start to finish.

The film centers on a bright young girl named Casey Newton (Britt Robertson), who receives a pin that shows her glimpses into another world that leads her to Frank Walker (George Clooney), an aged former boy-genius inventor and they embark on a journey to the long hidden world of “Tomorrowland”.

Director Brad Bird made a cautionary science fiction tale with a lengthy runtime that flies by. It’s near impossible for audience not to be amazed by the sights and sounds as creativity comes to life on the big screen, forgetting that another hour just passed by.

The highlight of the film is any scene with Raffey Cassidy, who plays Athena and is acting circles around her fellow co-stars. This 12 year old is holding her own in scenes with a veteran actor like Clooney, while bring charm and heart to the experience.

The first quarter of “Tomorrowland” is a mixed bag until the whole crew unites for the adventure, then it picks up and never stops. Jokes for example are rarely something that everyone ever laughed at, it’s either one person or the other chuckling, furthering the notion that some parts are disjointed by a split audience.

The film is a bit all over the place in terms of coherence, with a few points feeling likes it’s geared towards children, while most of it feeling like it’s a sci-fi action film aimed for teens and adults, supported by the ending that will undoubtedly go over the heads of young viewers.

The lowest point of the film is after the opening sequence when it’s focusing on Casey, she just doesn’t have that much going on with her. Casey was just not as interesting as other characters, such as Frank and Athena, who had a way more compelling backstory and dialogue.

The music was a little grating at certain points, in case some forgot they were watching a Disney movie, the horns would come blaring in to remind them. These are few and far between and by the end, you either accept the campiness or don’t.

The “dead mom” cliché is also reminds that it’s a Disney movie. There must have been a law made years ago making it illegal to have a mother figure in these stories, as Casey’s mom leaves the film as if to say to viewers ”you know how this goes”.

The world they build was so fascinating and it’s a shame they didn’t explore it more. Athena alludes to other people that also received the pin, basically teasing other stories taking place before/during the movie’s start. There was more lore than there was actual story, which is still a good thing.

“Tomorrowland” is filled with many great fight scenes that feature a lot of creative weapons and gadgets. The best uses of these gadgets are shown when Frank’s house was under attack, making for a thrilling scene as he and Casey try to escape.

Inspired by a time when imagination was at the forefront, Frank tells Casey and basically audience members that want to nitpick into the science something to the effect of “can’t you just be amazed and move on?”

The set and costume design is excellent, really nailing the futuristic 50’s look and a city that looks like it was designed by a bunch of dreamers.

An aspect of where everything doesn’t stand as tall is the special effects. At times they look exceptional when used in smaller instances, while in other moments they look like something off of Youtube in 2008.

Hugh Laurie’s Nix character is the antagonist of the film and really embodies that word, because he’s not really a villain, but rather somebody in the way of the trio completing the journey. His reasoning for wanting to stop them is so reasonable, I found myself kind of rooting for him to win.

“Tomorrowland” is a great complex concept, that’s acceptable when it drops the ball at points only because of how good it is when it does deliver. It features everything, a British “villain”, compelling twists and the brilliant Raffey Cassidy; I just had to give her another shout out and find a way to end this review abru-

‘Walking Dead’ & ‘The Wire’ Star Looses It On Train

Better known for his roles such as Tyreese and Cutty, Chad L. Coleman has added a new character to his resume, “that guy you don’t want to sit next to on a train”.

This will join the internet hall of fame with the “hide your kids, hide your wife” guy with how many quotable’s are in these 5 minutes.

The video shows the actor walking up and down the train after someone allegedly used a racial slur aimed at the star. What is Chad L Coleman talking about? I have no clue but it’s still entertaining to watch passengers react to just another day in New York.

If this was a publicity stunt, then bravo for putting on a good show and giving near by kids nightmares of turning into a “humanitarian”. Forget the boogeyman, Chad L. Coleman is all a parent needs to keep their kids from looking under the bed.

The laugh at 3:30 in the video is haunting, this could be more iconic than the echo sounds in the “Friday the 13th” series. Imagine walking down a dark alley way and that laugh is all you hear…that stream you feel running down your leg right now, that’s called fear.

He seems intoxicated but who knows, let’s just chalk this up to him having a bad day and move on. He’s already publicly apologized and continued on with his life.
